Winter continues to Russia, and the risk of frostbite does not go anywhere with it. How to identify them and what to do with them? What symptoms can indicate frostbite and how to provide first aid for hypothermia on the street? Signs of frostbite:
- The skin becomes pale or bluish, then loses sensitivity;
- When heated, pain, redness, edema appear;
- In severe cases, blisters or necrosis (fabric) are formed.
First aid:
Move the victim to a warm room.
Gradually warm the affected areas: cover them with dry, warm cloth. You can use the heat of the hands.
Do not rub the skin! This can damage the vessels.
Give a warm drink, but not alcohol.
If there are blisters or necrosis, immediately seek medical help.
With general hypothermia (chills, slowdown, drowsiness):
Warm up the body gradually, better with blankets.
Do not use hot water or straight heat (for example, heating pads) to avoid shock for the body.
