Dorflex: What is it for and how to use (tablet, drops and spray)

Dorflex is a remedy indicated to relieve pain caused by muscle contracture, tensional headache, lower back or cervical spine, stiff neck or to lower fever.

This remedy contains dipyrone, orfenadrin and caffeine in its composition, being found in the form of tablets or drops, and may also contain only dipyrone (Dorflex DIP or Dorflex Uno).

Dorflex should be used with medical advice, with doses according to the condition to be treated, and in some cases, Dorflex Spray may be indicated.

  • Muscle pain or contracture;

Dorflex Composition

In addition, Dorflex Icy Hot Spray has in its composition menthol and other substances that help reduce muscle pain.

How to use

Dorflex should be taken orally, and the tablets should be taken whole, without leaving or chewing, along with a glass of water.

Drops can be diluted in some water before taking and the effervescent tablet should be added in half a glass of water and taken shortly after dilution.

In the case of Dorflex Spray, its use should be done by spraying the product to fold the skin, in the region with muscle pain, not requiring massage the place.

Dorflex Posology

Posology depends on the pharmaceutical form that is used:

1. Dorflex compressed

The compressed Dorflex has 300 mg monohydrate dipyrone + orphenadrine citrate 35 mg + anhydros caffeine 50 mg in its composition, indicated only for adults.

The recommended dose is 1 to 2 compresses of Dorflex, 3 to 4 times a day, according to the medical advice.

2. Dorflex drops

Dorflex drops has dipyrone monohydrate 300 mg/ml + orpenadrine citrate 35 mg/ml + anhydrus caffeine 50 mg/ml, only for adult use.

The recommended dose is 30 to 60 drops of Dorflex oral solution, 3 to 4 times a day, as indicated.

Once opened, the Dorflex drop bottle is valid for 30 days, and any amount not used after this period should be ruled out.

3. Dorflex Max

Dorflex Max is found in the form of tablets, having a larger dose of its component, being dipyrone monohydrated 600mg + orphenadrin citrate 70mg + anhydrus caffeine 100mg.

The recommended dose for adults is 1 compressed Dorflex Max tablet, 3 to 4 times a day, according to the doctor’s guidance.

4. Dorflex Uno

Dorflex Uno has 1000 mg of monohydrate dipyrone, being suitable for adults or children over 15 years old to lower fever or relieve tensional headache.

The recommended dose is ½ (half) to 1 simple tablet or EFFERVESCENT DORFLEX UNO compressed, up to 4 times a day, according to medical advice.

5. Dorflex Dip

Dorflex DIP also has only 1000 mg monohydrate dipyrone in its composition for adult or pediatric use over 15 years.

The recommended dosage is 1 compressed Dorflex DIP, up to 4 times a day, according to the doctor’s guidance.

6. Dorflex spray

The Dorflex Icy Hot Spray has propylene glycol and menthol in its composition, suitable for bruises, trauma, muscle pain, cramp or stiff neck in adults.

The recommended dose is 1 spray/spraying on the skin of the sore region, up to 4 times a day, or as medical indication.

Possible side effects

The most common side effects of Dorflex are dry mouth, urinary retention, decreased sweat, pupil dilation, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, headache or dizziness.

In addition, a decrease or increased cardiac rhythm, cardiac arrhythmias, drug hepatitis, Stevens Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis may also occur.

  • Hepatic Porphyria or Severe Myasthenia.

In addition, Dorflex should not be used by people with G6PD deficiency, history of agranulocytosis or impaired bone marrow function.

People who are allergic to Dipyrone Fenazona, Prophynazone, Phenylbutazone, or Oxyphebutazone, for example, or any of the components present in the formula, should not use Dorflex.

Common doubts

The most common doubts regarding the use of Dorflex are:

1. Is Dorflex anti-inflammatory?

Dorflex is not anti-inflammatory and has no anti-inflammatory in its composition.

This medicine is a muscle painkiller and relaxing indicated mainly in cases of muscle contractures.

2. Can I have Dorflex with dengue?

Dorflex, especially what contains only monohydrate dipyrone (Dorflex DIP or Dorflex Uno), can be taken in case of dengue to relieve fever, body pain, headache or general discomfort.
